GIVE UP IDEALS

the problem with dreams is that
you envision them one way
and they turn out completely opposite.
so then, you think you failed and didn’t hit your goal.
shush. 
even your dreams have the ability to shape with the wind.
allow yourself the same courtesy. 
after all, we are an ever changing dream.  

LIFE CAN BE ROUGH

when a brick wall gets thrown in your face

and you are left staggering, crying out for aid,

you’re not the only one. 

we think pain seeks us out separately, 

breaking you down, breaking your soul. 

but truly, you’re not the only one unable to move.

you are not the only one who feels like you’re bleeding to death 

with only a band aid in your hand.

 

fragile friend, wrap your brokenness in a blanket 

and tell yourself it’ll all be a-okay for,

the shattered pieces are strongest together.

NOT BLIND ANYMORE

we don’t see like we used to anymore.

 times change and we change and then we are left with a new version of ourselves.

all we have is this moment and I’m afraid we do forget that.

 perhaps one great day an awakening will grasp the world and the world will smile back and say “thank you. I have been waiting so long for this” because you see, it’s not about just living, 

it’s about knowing what you’re living for.
